We’re about to complete the renovation works at Sant Boi City Hall.
This historic building, dating back to 1850, is being transformed to cut down its emissions and energy consumption, as part of the EU-funded procuRE project.
🔋 What’s been done?
✅ Installation of a 68 kWp photovoltaic system on the rooftop and parking canopy
✅ Upgrade of the HVAC system, reducing energy consumption by 30%
✅ Replacement of over 200 outdated lights with energy-efficient LEDs
✅ Implementation of a smart Building Management System for real-time monitoring and fault detection
Together, these improvements reduce non-renewable energy use by 45% and drastically cut CO₂ emissions—while preserving the character of a historic municipal building.
This retrofit is a model for public buildings across Europe, showing how cities can lead the way toward climate neutrality through smart, scalable solutions.
