As part of our ongoing retrofitting efforts in the procuRE project at the Sant Boi Townhall in the outskirts of Barcelona, we organised two workshops aimed at advancing building energy efficiency and knowledge sharing.
👉 Workshop 1: Engaging with townhall staff
The first workshop, organised on 7 May, focused on raising awareness among townhall staff about the importance of building energy retrofitting, and why works were undertaken at the townhall. We explained the improvements implemented in the building, such as the upgraded lighting system and the new solar PV panels on the roof. This session also provided an opportunity to gather feedback from staff on the changes, ensuring that their insights help shape our future projects.
👉 Workshop 2: Regional collaboration and knowledge exchange
Our second workshop was organised on 14 May in collaboration with the Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB) and brought together staff from other municipalities in the region. The main objective was to showcase the retrofitting work completed at the townhall and to facilitate the exchange of experiences and lessons learned among participants.
This interactive session featured the “Building Journey,” a participatory workshop developed by our partner Three o’clock. The Building Journey provided an overview of retrofitting projects and created a platform for open discussion about the barriers faced in implementing retrofitting projects at both the city and decision-making levels.
These workshops not only strengthened our local efforts but also fostered regional cooperation and shared learning, helping to accelerate the transition to more energy-efficient public buildings.
